Greetings from the Cinephile Film Club! As a celebration of the legendary Mrinal Sen’s birth centenary, this Thursday the Cinephile Film Club of ESG will be screening the movie “Akaler Shandhaney” in the presence of the lead actor, Shri Dhritiman Chaterji, who worked with legendary filmmakers like Sen and Satyajit Ray. The screening will be followed by a Q&A. The movie will be screened at Maquinez palace, Audi 1, ESG on 1st June 2023 at 6.30 p.m. Details as given below.

The story revolves around a film crew that has come to a village to shoot a film on the 1943 Bengal famine. Dhritman Chaterji plays the director of the film with Smita Patil playing the actress.
