This year, he won yet another prize at Cannes (Grand Jury Prize for Fallen Leaves). The Man Without a Past also won the same award at Cannes back in 2002 (along with Best Actress, Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and Palm Dog) and was nominated for an Oscar (the only Finnish film, ever).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This film is about a man who comes to Helsinki, gets mugged, and wakes up in a hospital without any memory. From there, he rebuilds his life from scratch. The Hollywood Reporter in its review said, “It takes a great deal of experience and wisdom to make a film this simple yet profound.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
